Li Wei is the Global Affairs Correspondent for Trust-Me-Bro.us and the newsroom’s remarkably well-connected window to the rest of the world.
His beat has virtually no borders. Li reports on Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America, Australia, the Middle East and, whenever something sufficiently strange happens there, the Arctic and Antarctica.
Calm, impeccably dressed and rarely surprised, Li has an unusual talent for appearing exactly where international stories are developing. He knows which officials to call, which hotel lobby to wait in and which completely ordinary unmarked sedan happens to be parked outside.
Nobody in the Trust-Me-Bro.us newsroom seems particularly interested in asking how he obtains his information. Uncle Bro considers him “extremely resourceful,” Florida Frank assumes he has a lot of airline miles, and Captain Freedom respects anyone who owns that many dark suits.
Li insists that his extensive international contacts come from years of journalism, cultural curiosity and excellent networking. The encrypted phones, mysterious late-night meetings and occasional disappearance whenever somebody mentions counterintelligence are, according to Li, entirely unrelated.
